Welcome to By Grace & GinghamLEARN ABOUT ME
BEHIND THE BLOG
So happy you dropped by! My name is Malia – a Texas gal planting roots in the suburbs of Indianapolis. I got married a month after graduating from Notre Dame, and I’m having such a fun time adjusting to adult life and making our first place together feel like a home! I started my blog back in college when I was looking for a creative outlet from my academics, and I have loved getting to share a bit of my life and interests on this little corner of the internet! Consider this blog your guide to timeless, classic style (for both your home and your wardrobe) with a bit of a southern flair – all on an attainable and affordable budget. I believe everyone should be able to curate a space and closet they love, so if you’re looking to save without sacrificing style, this is the place for you!
Creating memories & curating classic, timeless style.
I started By Grace & Gingham at the end of my sophomore year at the University of Notre Dame as a way to express my creativity outside of academics. Since then, I have shared about my life, style, major milestones, recipes, and of course – lots of sales! I have really honed in on my classic taste since I started blogging, and I love sharing ways to help readers save on high-quality and timeless pieces for both the wardrobe and the home.
I’D LOVE TO GET IN TOUCH. HOW CAN I CONTACT YOU?

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I was born in Austin, Texas, but I grew up in Houston. I absolutely love Texas, and I couldn’t imagine growing up anywhere else! After getting married in June 2022, I moved to my husband’s hometown of Indianapolis, and it’s really growing on me!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
Currently, I work from home for a commercial real estate brokerage based out of Austin!
HOW DID YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND MEET?
Funny story, actually! We were in a group chat together during our senior year of high school (with other seniors all over the country who were planning on going to Notre Dame), and so we got acquainted way back then! I didn’t see him much once freshman year of college started, but he switched into my macroeconomics class spring semester, and we ended up working on our final group project together. I thought he was really sweet, but the semester was over before we knew it, and we didn’t have time to get to know each other before the summer. Fast forward to June 20, 2019, Jacob posted a gorgeous sunset photo while he was up at Lake Michigan, and I sent him a message about how beautiful it was. When he responded, we got to talking, and just never stopped!
WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED?
I married my college sweetheart, Jacob, in June 2022 (about a month after graduating from Notre Dame)! We started dating at the beginning of our sophomore year, and Jacob proposed at the end of our junior year!
WHAT IS YOUR FAITH/RELIGION?
I’m Roman Catholic and my faith is a huge part of my life! Jacob and I both grew up Catholic and we got married in the Church. The Lord has seen me through so many of life’s trials and celebrations, and I am so blessed to have developed a true relationship with Him at such a young age. I am by no means perfect, but the Lord is kind and merciful, and I am constantly striving toward sanctification.
WHERE DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE AND WHAT DID YOU STUDY?
I went to the University of Notre Dame and graduated in May 2022 with a major in Political Science and minors in Business Economics and Real Estate.
